Assam, in recent weeks, has adopted the Containment Zone model to contain the outbreak of the virus so as not to inconvenience the people living in far-off areas who live in the same city or district. Yesterday, 3 more areas - Lalganesh, Dhirenpara and Athgaon -- were declared as Containment Zones by the district administration to control the spread of the highly infectious disease.

It is pertinent to mention here that Assam's Covid-19 count increased to 3,285 yesterday, with the addition of 155 cases in 12 hours. At the same time, however, 152 people were also discharged from hospitals. In India, the number of recoveries exceeded the number of deaths for the first time on Wednesday, according to the Union Health Ministry data.
