With the number of coronavirus positive cases on the rise across the nation, the Government of Assam has been placing great emphasis on the need to provide timely care to the pregnant women who are being treated for their infections. To illustrate this point, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced the setting up of a 'special' coronavirus hospital in Guwahati's Mahendra Mohan Choudhary Hospital to expressly treat women and children (below 12). At the same time, with the up-gradation of the health facilities devoted to the coronavirus fight, many healthy babies are being conceived by women who have been undergoing treatment at COVID Care Centers.
