BOKO: Corruption allegations have been made against the 69th South West Boko Gaon Panchayat office, which is located in the Kamrup district’s Boko Development Zone. According to a source, construction work has been started on sanitary latrine and urinal with running water facility at gaon Panchayat Office for women under 15th finance commission for the year 2020-21. But the person who took the contract did not process the project according to the scheme.

When asked about the situation, Abdul Khalek, the secretary of the 69 GP, answered that a meeting was conducted at the Panchayat office premises and it was decided to construct the scheme by smashing the old toilet because there was not enough space for new construction.

Only the wall was repaired instead of the new construction. On the other hand, according to the scheme, the roof has be double roofed but only the roof shades were repaired.

The secretary of the Panchayat Abdul Khalek said that they cannot be in charge of the work all the time. “But when I came to know the matter, I stopped the construction work immediately,” Khalek added.

To construct the scheme, a meeting was held in the 69 GP office premises on September 11. The meeting was presided over by Dipali Boro, president of the 69 GP, where it was proposed that the old toilets would also be demolished and new ones would be built.
