COVID-19 claims 26 lives in Lakhimpur; total cases spike to 7,632

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Lakhimpur district spiked to 7632 on Wednesday.

LAKHIMPUR: The total number of COVID-19 cases in Lakhimpur district spiked to 7632 on Wednesday. Out of them, 6,401 patients have been discharged while 1,231 are active cases. They are under treatment at District COVID Hospital at Telahi Model Hospital (86), Laluk COVID Care Centre (CCC) at Laluk Model Hospital (50), Narayanpur CCC at Narayanpur Model Hospital (50), Narayanpur Poly-technique CCC (102), Boginadi CCC at Boginadi Model Hospital (50), Naoboicha College CCC (180) and North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital (80), while the remaining patients are under home isolation

Notably, a total of 969 COVID-19 patients were detected in the district in last 20 days. However, the day-to-day detection of the patients concerned has been decreasing in the district of late in comparison to that of the month of September. Only 15 patients were reported in the district on Wednesday while 11 patients were detected on Sunday, 12 on Monday and 30 on Tuesday.

On the other hand, the pandemic has claimed the lives of 26 people in the district till day. In addition to them, a total of 27 people of the district met with non-COVID death with COVID-19 positivity during the past days. This was declared by the Deputy Commissioner of the district, Dr. Jeevan B in front of the media persons on Wednesday.
