COVID-19 pandemic scenario worsens in Lakhimpur district

LAKHIMPUR: The COVID-19 pandemic scenario is worsening day by day in Lakhimpur district. As a result of it, the total figure of COVID-19 cases in the district has crossed the 2,000 mark. A total of 112 new COVID-19 patients were detected in the district on last two days. Of them, 64 people were found positive on Tuesday. Out of them, three patients were detected positive as per real time Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (rRT-PCR) Test while rest 61 patients were found positive through Rapid Antigen Test (RAT). On Tuesday, three employees of the office of the North Lakhimpur Revenue Circle Officer were found positive while 9 personnel were detected positive at Dhakuakhana CISF camp. The Lady Health Visitor of Azad Dispensary was also detected positive for COVID -19 on the same day.

On the other hand, a total of 48 new COVID-19 cases were detected in the district on Wednesday. Of them, three patients were found infected with the pandemic virus as per rRT-PCR Test while rest 45 patients were detected through RAT. An ASHA worker tested positive at Banderdewa on Wednesday. With these patients, the number of total COVID-19 cases has spiked to 2,052 in the district. Of them, 1,141 patients have been discharged while 911 are active cases.
