COVID-19 situation reviewed in tea estates under Dhekiajuli LAC

In view of the surge in the number of COVID-19 cases in the tea estates of Sonitpur district

TEZPUR: In view of the surge in the number of COVID-19 cases in the tea estates of Sonitpur district, Deputy Commissioner Bhupesh Chandra Das along with MIP Tezpur Dr Pradip Kumar Lahkar on Sunday visited tea gardens under Dhekiajuli LAC in Sonitpur district and held meeting with the all mangers of tea gardens to review the COVID-19 preparedness and vaccination in the tea estates.

Deputy Commissioner Bhupesh Chandra Das laid stress on conducting Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) widely to detect COVID-19 patients among the garden and to take all precautionary measures as per COVID-19 protocol and extend their cooperation to create extensive mass awareness in order to make the vaccination drive successful. He further said that district administration was all set to conduct an extensive awareness drive for COVID-19 vaccination of 18 year old and above age group from June 21. He also directed to involve workers' union and student organizations also to motivate the garden population for vaccination. Attending the programme, Dr Pradip Kumar Lahkar requested all managers to take active part in immunization programme and directed the management to improve drinking water and sanitary arrangements in COVID Care Centre and in garden hospital. He urged all the managers to appoint adequate number of medical and paramedical staff in the garden hospital and keep hospital ambulance in good and running condition and also to arrange hired vehicle in emergency situations.
