COVID-19 situation reviewed in tea estates under Kaliabar subdivision

In view of the rising number of COVID-19 cases in tea estates, Dr Pradip Kumar Lahkar, MIP in-charge of Nagaon district visited Kellyden Tea Estate and Jagadamba Tea Estate and reviewed the management of COVID-19 situation in Kaliabar subdivision.

TEZPUR: In view of the rising number of COVID-19 cases in tea estates, Dr Pradip Kumar Lahkar, MIP in-charge of Nagaon district visited Kellyden Tea Estate and Jagadamba Tea Estate and reviewed the management of COVID-19 situation in Kaliabar subdivision. He attended awareness meetings among the workers and also distributed around 2,000 masks among the workers in their working site.

Dr Lahkar stressed carrying out intensive awareness drive on the preventive measures against COVID-19 and directed the management to increase the number of daily RAT tests and to follow recent SOP issued for management of COVID-19 pandemic in tea estates properly. He also requested the workers' union and different student organizations to extend their cooperation to fight against the pandemic situation. He requested the managers to extend full cooperation for holding vaccination drive in the tea estates covering more numbers of people as soon as possible and to take all precautionary measures as per COVID-19 protocol.
