COVID-19 tally rises to 2,854 in Lakhimpur

A total of 134 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Lakhimpur on Tuesday and Wednesday

LAKHIMPUR: A total of 134 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Lakhimpur on Tuesday and Wednesday. Of them, 71 people tested positive on Tuesday while 63 people were detected on Wednesday.

Out of them, 21 patients were detected positive as per real time Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (rRT-PCR) Test result while rest 50 patients were found positive through Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) conducted at various places under the district.

Notably, three lady teachers of Dakshin Rupohi High School under Kadam Revenue Circle were reported positive for coronavirus infection as per rRT-PCR Test on Tuesday. Remaining cases were detected in various parts of the district after contact tracing. With these 134 newly-detected patients, the number of total COVID-19 cases in the district has spiked to 2,854. Of them, 2,048 patients have been discharged while 806 are active cases.
