The protest was against the government's 'irrelevant' laws like changes made to the Labour Act and the government's handling of the Baghjan blowout and fire incident, putting Dehing-Patkai Wildlife Sanctuary and Dibru-Saikhowa National Park at risk and alleged corruption in Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN). Later, the leaders submitted a memorandum with 7-point charter of demands to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal through the Circle Officer of Naharkatia revenue circle.
