TANGLA: Udalguri Police have launched a crackdown on child marriage cases in the district. In yet another drive, Orang Police arrested two youths accused of marrying minors, from their residence in the wee hours of Tuesday. According to reports, Orang Police arrested Mohan Biswas (25), an inhabitant of Fatasimalu village, and Sariful Islam (21), an inhabitant of Biskhuti village of Udalguri district.
Meanwhile, Orang Police have registered two cases in this regard vide Orang P.S case no.133/23 and 134/23 under relevant provisions of the Protection of Child from Sexual Offences Act(POCSO) 2012, informed Sarat Chandra Kalita Officer-in charge of Orang PS.
