Cricketer Yuvraj Singh Donates 100 ICU Beds at AMCH, Dibrugarh

GUWAHATI: In a humanitarian move, star cricketer Yuvraj Singh's foundation has donated 100 ICU beds to the Assam Medical College and Hospital, Dibrugarh for providing adequate treatment to children COVID-19 patients.

The Yuvraj Singh Foundation, formed by the cricketer informed the AMCH authority by a letter. Thanking Cricketer Singh AMCH Superintendent Dr. Sanjeev Kakoty said," Two months ago we have received a message that the Yuvaraj Singh Foundation would donate 1000 ICU beds to various medical colleges and hospitals. Among these, we are going to receive 100 beds.

"Out of the 100 beds in the pediatric ICU, 20 beds will have full-fledged ventilators and 80 Oxygen-generated beds will be set up at the children's wards of AMCH," Dr. Kakati informed.

The Guwahati Medical College& Hospital and Silchar Medical College& Hospital would get 50 such beds each." Dr. Kakoty said that they have received an e-mail from the Yuvaraj Singh Foundation confirming that the AMC&H would receive 100 ICU beds from it.

The foundation works extensively in the healthcare sector with a focus on issues related to cancer.

Meanwhile, a section of experts predicted that the COVID-19 third wave that is about to come would do more harm to the children. It has terrified many across the country.
