Crucial meeting held between BTC chief Pramod Boro and Emmanuel Moshahary

Tamulpur Ex-MLA Emmanuel Moshahary quit the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

BAKSA: Tamulpur Ex-MLA Emmanuel Moshahary quit the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He wanted to contest in the Tamulpur constituency bye-poll as BJP candidates. When he was denied, Moshahary later filed his nomination as an independent candidate.

But Emmanuel Moshahary withdrew his nomination on October 16 at the call of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma. After withdrawing the nomination, BJP leader Emmanuel Moshahary did not participate in the election campaign in support of the BJP- UPPL-AGP alliance candidate Jolen Daimary.

A key meeting was held between Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief Pramod Boro and Emmanuel Moshahary in Nagrujuli on Thursday evening which was attended by Kamalpur constituency MLA Diganta Kalita, party candidate Jolen Daimary, BJP leader Emanuel Moshahary's supporter and UPPL leaders. Emanuel Mosahary as well as party allies were elated at the end of the long meeting.

Pramod Boro later told media persons, "BJP leader Emmanuel Moshahary is an experienced and senior politician. He has withdrawn his nomination as a call from the Chief Minister. He will be given due respect by being placed in the right place."

At the end of the meeting, Kamalpur MLA Diganta Kalita told the media that now the victory of alliance candidate Jolen Daimary in the bye-election had been ensured. "Our candidate will win by 130,000 votes," he said.

On the other hand, former MLA Emmanuel Moshahary said, "I withdrew the nomination at the call of the Chief Minister. I am now ready to do election campaigning for Jolen Daimary."
