Custom hiring centre with 10 different agricultural implements inaugurated in Barpeta

A custom hiring centre comprising 10 different agricultural implements was inaugurated by Ranjit Kumar Das, MLA of Sarbhog, at Meda village under Chakchaka development block, Barpeta.

BARPETA: A custom hiring centre comprising 10 different agricultural implements was inaugurated by Ranjit Kumar Das, MLA of Sarbhog, at Meda village under Chakchaka development block, Barpeta. The centre is fully supported by the World Bank funded Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project (APART).

It has been given for operation to Sarbhog Agricultural Producers' Organization by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Barpeta. The programme started with a short address by Dr A K Deka, senior scientist and Head KVK, Barpeta. In his address, he spoke about the advantages of agricultural mechanization in the light of changing crop production strategies.

Barpeta Deputy Commissioner Munindra Sarma was present as guest of honour. He called upon the farmers to derive benefits out of the centre as much as possible as it would lessen the cost of production and income would be enhanced. Ranjit Das expressed happiness that Sarbhog had a great name in the agricultural sector.
