DIBRUGARH: Family members of Daljit Singh Kalsi arrived in Dibrugarh Central jail on Thursday and met Daljit, who is lodged in Dibrugarh Central jail since March 19, 2023.

Daljit Kalsi’s wife Narinder Kaur (Neeru Kalsi) met her husband, along with their son, Simarjeet Kalsi (Sunny), in Dibrugarh Central Jail.

Talking to media persons, Narinder Kaur said, “They are comfortable inside the jail, they have no problem with food and facilities inside the jail. He has done no wrong and what the media is portraying is false. All allegations are baseless. Whatever he asks is being provided to him.”

She further said, “I spoke to Daljit Kalsi for one hour and I have come with our son to meet my husband. Amrit Pal has not done anything wrong, he asked people to abstain from drugs and I see no wrong in it. Amrit Pal was home till 9 PM, why wasn’t he arrested then? His name has been tarnished. All people inside the jail have no allegation against them and shall be released soon. Only the name of Panth has been tarnished intentionally,”

On March 19, along with Daljeet Kalsi, three others -Basant Singh, Gurmeet Singh Bhukhanwala and Bhagwant Singh alias Pradhan Mantri Bajeke - were brought to Dibrugarh Central Jail under the National Security Act (NSA).

A five-member team of the Advisory Board under NSA arrived at Dibrugarh from Punjab on Wednesday to meet the nine detainees of ‘Waris Punjab De’. According to information, the team headed by chairperson, retired Justice Shabihul Hasnain, consists of Suveer Sheokand (member), Divanshu Jain (member), Rakesh Agarwal, IPS, IGP, CI, Punjab and Rupinder Kaur Bhatti, SP, CI, Punjab.
