MANGALDAI: At the successful conclusion of elections to the Assam Assembly in the district, Darrang Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Dilip Kumar Borah on Monday extended his heartfelt gratitude to all the candidates and their supporters, central observers, local observers, officials related to the poll process and media persons of the district for their co-operation in the conduct of polls as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.

Talking to The Sentinel on Saturday afternoon in his office chamber, Deputy Commissioner Borah also extended his gratitude to the residents of the district for their co-operation in conducting a peaceful election, despite the fact that the district was home to numerous ethnicities, thereby projecting the district as a role-model in front of the entire State.

He further expressed special gratitude towards the media persons of Darrang for their never-ending co-operation in maintaining peace and tranquility, since the beginning of the election process till its conclusion on May 2.

The Deputy Commissioner further appealed to the victorious candidates of the four Legislative Assembly Constituencies (LAC) to adhere by the directives of the ECI in their celebrations, considering the recent spike in coronavirus spread in the country, while congratulating them for their success.
