Darrang placed second among 124 Aspirational Districts by Niti Aayog

Darrang district has been able to show special performance among the 124 Aspirational Districts identified by the NITI Aayog

MANGALDAI: Darrang district has been able to show special performance among the 124 Aspirational Districts identified by the NITI Aayog and on the basis of this exceptional performance, the district has claimed the second position in the country.

Informing this to The Sentinel, jubilant Deputy Commissioner Dilip Kumar Borah said that Darrang district has been placed in the first position in Financial Inclusion and Skill Development while it has been placed in the seventh position in Education. He also

congratulated all the officials and staff of the financial institutions, skill development and Education for their contribution in this achievement.

"My priority and responsibility from now onwards will be to take out the district of Darrang from the list of the Aspirational Districts and to claim for the position among the developed districts of the country," said Deputy Commissioner Dilip Kumar Borah.

At present seven districts of Assam, namely Darrang, Udalguri, Baksa, Barpeta, Dhubri, Hailakandi and Goalpara have been enlisted among the 124 Aspirational Districts of the country.
