Darrang Police rescue four minor girls from a brothel in Haryana

Four minor girls belonging to the religious minority community in Darrang district were sold at a total amount of Rs 1 lakh to a prostitution racket in Haryana

MANGALDAI: Four minor girls belonging to the religious minority community in Darrang district were sold at a total amount of Rs 1 lakh to a prostitution racket in Haryana by one NilimaKhatun (28) of village Ghatpara under Dalgaon Police station in Darrang district.

However, Darrang Police, under the command of Superintendent of Police AmritBhuyan, on Friday afternoon successfully recovered all the four minor girls and arrested the accused NilimaKhatun from Nathupur Police Station area in Gurugram, Haryana. Superintendent of Police AmritBhuyan on receipt of information about the four minor girls missing, made communication with higher officials of Assam Police and after obtaining the permission, entrusted Officer in-charge of Shyampur Police Station, Sub Inspector DantejitDeuri to rescue the missing girls. Sub-Inspector Deuri, in connection with Shyampur Police Station case number 103/2020 under section 366/372 of Indian Penal Code, rushed to Haryana on Thursday evening and with the help of the officials of Nathupur Police Station, finally rescued all the minor girls from a brothel and arrested the accused, NilimaKhatun.

Talking to The Sentinel on Friday evening, Superintendent of Police AmritBhuyan said that Officer in-charge of Shyampur Police Station, Sub-Inspector DantejitDeuri, with cooperation from the officials of Nathupur Police Station, was doing all legal formalities to take back the recovered minor girls along with the arrested trafficker NilimaKhatun. Various organizations in Darrang district expressed satisfaction over the prompt initiative of Darrang Police.
