Darrang SP comes to aid of ailing boy Dibya Jyoti Rajbongshi

MANGALDAI: Dibya Jyoti Rajbongshi is an eight-year old boy of village Kalikhola in Dimakuchi area in Udalguri district. His father Hemanta Rajbongshi is a very poor villager, mostly maintaining his small family as a daily wage earner with the help of his wife Bharati Rajbongshi.

Dibya Jyoti Rajbongshi developed a serious renal ailment. The helpless parents immediately took their son to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital for proper treatment but they were compelled to return home with a heavy heart as the boy was diagnosed with damage of both the kidneys.

Finding no alternative in their hand for the treatment of their son, two days back the helpless father sought the help of Superintendent of Police of Darrang Er Sushanta Biswa Sarma through a WhatsApp message. Extending a very prompt response with a positive attitude, Er Sarma asked Hemanta Rajbongshi to meet him at Mangaldai along with all the medical certificates the next day. Superintendent of Police Er Sarma immediately communicated with a senior renal surgeon of Guwahati who also accorded a very positive response. As per the advice of the surgeon, Er Sarma on Saturday morning arranged a vehicle to take the ailing boy to Guwahati for a thorough check-up escorted by two police personnel.

Superintendent of Police Er Sarma said that he would ensure all arrangement for the treatment of the boy. "Though the village Kalikhola in Dimakuchi area is not under the jurisdiction of Darrang Police, yet for the sake of the humanity and expressing my solidarity towards the suffering parents in the time of their crisis, I have decided to arrange for the treatment of the child," said Superintendent of Police Er Sushanta Biswa Sarma.
