Debate competition for police personnel held at Lakhimpur Commerce College

A debate competition for police personnel was held at Lakhimpur Commerce College with the objective of creating democratic enlightenment with oratory skills among the law enforcers.

LAKHIMPUR: A debate competition for police personnel was held at Lakhimpur Commerce College with the objective of creating democratic enlightenment with oratory skills among the law enforcers. The debate competition was organized by Lakhimpur Police in active collaboration with Lakhimpur Commerce College.

The competition was inaugurated by Lakhimpur Commerce College Principal Dr. Lohit Hazarika and objective of the programme was explained by senior teacher Professor Sazzad Hussain. Senior advocate of North Lakhimpur Bar, Meenaxi Gohain Baruah chaired the competition in which public prosecutor advocate Madhab Chandra Gogoi, journalist Bubul Hazarika and Professor Kuldeep Narayan Dutta of Lakhimpur Commerce College acted as the judges. A total of seventeen police personnel from Lakhimpur district participated in the debate competition. AB Constable Manoj Kumar Nath emerged first in the competition followed by Head Constable (WT) Dibakar Khaund as second and AB Constable Shahanoor Ahmed as third. Additional Superintendent of Police (HQ) Munindra Nath Deori delivered the vote of thanks and Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Jayanta Baruah and SDPO-Dhakuakhana Sudhanya Suklabaidya graced the occasion as guests of honour. Teachers and students of Lakhimpur Commerce College also attended the programme.
