Dibrugarh: A Delhi based senior citizen had allegedly tried to smuggle gold biscuits by concealing them inside his rectum was caught by sleuths of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) from the Dibrugarh airport on Tuesday.
As per reports, the CISF personnel spotted the man moving in a suspicious manner and accordingly intercepted him. The passenger identified as Chaman Lal Mehta (60) had come to board an Indigo flight to Delhi.
The CISF personnel at Dibrugarh Airport nabbed the passenger for allegedly sneaking in gold bars worth over several lakhs of rupees.
The accused hails from Delhi. He is presently being interrogated.
Meanwhile, during interrogation, the passenger confessed that he had stashed nine gold biscuits inside his rectum.
It is to be noted that the gold biscuits which were wrapped in the black plastic film were safely removed with the aid of medical professionals.
Further interrogation of the passenger was being carried out by Customs officials.
