Lakhimpur: Responding to the instruction of the central committee, the Lakhimpur district unit of All India Save Education Committee on Friday initiated protest in North Lakhimpur town to demand for the immediate scrapping of the National Education Policy, 2020 (NEP - 2020). The protest programme was staged near the Ambedkar statue of the town in connection with the death anniversary of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, the pioneer leader of the 'Renaissance of India'.
Notably, All India Save Education Committee staged the protest across the nation on Friday by terming the NEP- 2020 as a 'communally-motivated policy'. The organization also demanded the Union Government to stop the alleged "tampering of history in the name of rewriting it". The protesters rent the air by shouting slogans in support of their demands.
