Demise of Assam Agriculture University Entomology professor Abu Adil Haque Baruah condoled

LAKHIMPUR: The demise of Abu Adil Haque Baruah, retired professor of Entomology in Assam Agriculture University (AAU), Jorhat, was deeply condoled in Lakhimpur. Abu Adil Haque Baruah, the younger son of academician Sirajul Haque Baruah, resident of KB road in North Lakhimpur town, breathed his last on June 1 while he was undergoing medical treatment at Assam Medical College and Hospital, Dibrugarh.

As a professor of credit, Abu Adil Haque Baruah, who joined in AAU in 1977 and retired in 2018, deservingly achieved gold medal from the American Agriculture Society. He got his PhD degree in 1988-89. He was cremated at North Lakhimpur crematory ground on June 2. He is survived by his wife, a son along with a host of relatives.

At his demise, Lakhimpur Jame Masjid Management Committee secretary Siddique Ali, Sajad Hazarika of Muslim Gana Mancha, Lakhimpur Jamiyat Ulama Hind president Mufti Abdul Hasib and Town ME Madrassa Headmaster Abdus Samad expressed deep condolence. The Entomology Department of AAU also organized a condolence meeting with Dr. Ataur Rahman, the department Head, in the presence of retired Head Dr. Dulal Chandra Borah, retired Dean Lakhi Kanta Hazarika and other employees and students of the department. The meeting recalled the contributions of Abu Adil Haque Baruah towards the Entomology department of AAU and the related sector in the State.
