DEMOW: The Demow College Students’ Union Election 2023-24 was held on Tuesday and the counting of votes was done on Wednesday where All Assam Students’ Union (AASU)-supported candidates won in majority posts.
Among 13 posts, AASU-supported candidates won in 12 posts and AYM-supported candidate won in only one post. Sukanya Dutta won the election for the president’s post, Utpal Deori was elected as vice-president and Shyamal Hatimuria as general secretary. The Asomiya Yuva Mancha (AYM)-supported candidate won the election to the post of Minor Games Secretary. A rally was taken out with the winning AASU-supported candidates in the Demow area on Wednesday afternoon after the results were declared.
