LAKHIMPUR: Ruling party BJP has initiated combative attempt to win the upcoming Deori Autonomous Council (DAC) Election, 2022 to be held on November 8.
In this connection, the party has organized consecutive organizational meetings in the poll-bound areas under seven DAC constituencies of the Lakhimpur district. Bihpuria MLA Dr. Amiya Kumar Bhuyan, Lakhimpur MLA Manab Deka along with party leaders, activists took part in these meetings held in the poll-bound areas under their respective constituencies to chalk out election strategies and to encourage the party members.
On Monday, Water Resources Department Minister Pijush Hazarika visited Lakhimpur district by coming from Guwahati by a helicopter in order to frame election strategy. He arrived at Narayanpur in the morning and then held locked-door meeting with the ticket aspirants in Narayanpur. Bihpuria MLA Dr Amiya Kumar Bhuyan, Tezpur MP Pallab Lochan Das, Lakhimpur district BJP president Phanidhar Baruah and other party leaders were also present in the meeting.
Notably, the BJP, till date, has not declared the name of the party candidates for any of all 22 DAC constituencies, despite October 19 being the last date for the submission of the nomination papers.
Later, while interacting with the media persons, Pijush Hazarika said that list of the BJP candidates for DAC Election would be declared on Monday night or on Tuesday.
