A CORRESPONDENT
DOOMDOOMA: The election of Deori Autonomous Council (DAC) in two constituencies of Sadiya Sub-division i.e. No.1 Sadiya and No 2 Kundil passed off peacefully on Tuesday. The total number of voters in No 1 Sadiya Constituency is 2,430. Of them 1,177 are males and 1,253 are females while in No 2 Kundil constituency the total number of voters is 4,561 (Males 2,302 and females 2,259). The percentage of polling in No.1 Sadiya Constituency was 80.04% while in number 2 Kundil constituency, it was 58.78%.
In No 1 Sadiya Constituency, there were three candidates in the fray. They are Jatin Ch. Deori (BJP), Honto Deori (INC), Padma Deori (Independent). In No.2 Kundil constituency the number of contestants is four. They are Jai Ram Deori, (BJP), Ranjit Deori (INC), Jaytika Deori (Independent) and Sitish Kumar Deori (Independent). The election passed off peacefully with no untoward incident reported from anywhere.
