Deori Autonomous Council Poll: Polling peaceful in Thowra constituency

The Deori Autonomous Council Poll was held in 5 no Tengapani Constituency, 6 no Kotiori Constituency and 7 no Rajabari Constituency of Thowra Constituency

DEMOW: The Deori Autonomous Council Poll was held in 5 no Tengapani Constituency, 6 no Kotiori Constituency and 7 no Rajabari Constituency of Thowra Constituency in Sivasagar District on Tuesday. The polling started at 8 am on Tuesday. The voters were seen in queue from the morning to cast their valuable votes in voting centre.

A total of 1153 voters were there in 5 no Tengapani Constituency, 1,436 voters in 6 no Kotiori Constituency and 2,033 voters in 7 no Rajabari Constituency. Hiranjit Bireswar Deori, of BJP contested in 6 No Kotiori Constituency, Basanta Deori of Congress contested in 6 No Kotiori Constituency, Dharmeswar Deori of Raijor Dal contested in 6 No Kotiori Constituency and Harigobinda Deori contested as Independent in 6 No Kotiori Constituency.

In 5 No Tengapani Constituency, Bhaben Deori of AGP contested, Huneswar Deori of Congress contested, Akhim Deori of Aam Admi Party (AAP) contested and Hem Deori contested as Independent in 5 No Tengapani Constituency.

In 7 No Rajabari Constituency, Bhirab Deori of BJP contested, Dipanjal Deori of Asom Jatiya Parishad (AJP) contested and Baikuntha Prasad Deori contested as independent. According to sources, on Tuesday in 5 no Tengapani Constituency the polling percentage was 83.26 percent till 4 pm. In 6 no Kotiori Constituency the polling percentage was 80.57 percent till 4 pm and in 7 no Rajabari Constituency the polling percentage was 76.64 percent till 4 pm. No untoward incident was reported till the filing of this report. The polling ended on 4 pm.
