Lecture organized on correct usage of Assamese language at Tinsukia College

“On pronouncing words correctly with proper intonation, the level of speech understanding also increases. Poor pronunciation creates additional barrier in communication,” said Dr Bhim Kanta Boruah, Emeritus professor and retired professor of the Department of Assamese, Dibrugarh University, while delivering a lecture as resource person on the topic ‘Usage of correct Assamese language’ at Tinsukia College.

TINSUKIA: “On pronouncing words correctly with proper intonation, the level of speech understanding also increases. Poor pronunciation creates additional barrier in communication,” said Dr Bhim Kanta Boruah, Emeritus professor and retired professor of the Department of Assamese, Dibrugarh University, while delivering a lecture as resource person on the topic ‘Usage of correct Assamese language’ at Tinsukia College on Tuesday.

Dr Baruah presented an analytical and insightfullecture on the correct pronunciation, correct usage and grammatical reasoning of Assamese language. The event was organized by the Youth Parliament Sub-Committee of Axam Xahitya Xabha in collaboration with Tinsukia branch of Axam Xahitya Xabha and Assamese department of Tinsukia College. In his welcome speech, the vice president of Youth Parliament Sub-Committee of Axam Xahitya Xabha and also the principal of Tinsukia College, Dr Surjya Chutia said that in the present context, it was pertinent to hold workshops on promotion and propagation on Assamese language.
