Deputy Commissioner of Barpeta Ayush Garg visits villages near Beki river

After releasing the excess water from Kurichu dam of Bhutan, nearby areas of Beki river in Baksa district were flooded. Narayanguri, Udalguri, Alengamari, Balipur,Chunbari etc villages are in great threat.

BARPETA: After releasing the excess water from Kurichu dam of Bhutan, nearby areas of Beki river in Baksa district were flooded. Narayanguri, Udalguri, Alengamari, Balipur,Chunbari etc villages are in great threat. These villagers were asked to shift in safer places. The Deputy Commissioner of Barpeta Ayush Garg on Friday visited the villages to take stock of the situation.. The Deputy Commissioner also talked to the people of those areas. The water level of Beki river has risen after the release of Kurichu dam excess water. Today along with Deputy Commissioner, the ADC of Barpeta (Disaster management) Lakhimi Dutta and the circle officer of Barnagar revenue circle Mithinga Daimary also visited the area.
