HAFLONG: Leading Dima Hasao district towards development, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council Chief Executive Member Debolal Gorlosa inaugurated and also laid foundations for a number of development projects under Harangajao MAC constituency on Wednesday.
The projects include RCC bridge no 1/1 over River Kuki nalla on Maharajpr II road under Mahabir Lachit Chilarai Setu Nirman Abhijan, water supply schemes, village approach road, widening of Harangajao field and several other infrastructure developments.
The CEM was accompanied by DHAC chairperson Ranu Langthasa, local MAC and EM Amendu Hojai, EM Samuel Changsan, EM Nipolal Hojai, EM Golonjo Thaosen, district BJP president Donpainon Thaosen, BJP general secretary Rupali Langthasa and other dignitaries.
Following the inaugural ceremony, a public meeting was held where thousands of people attended. Addressing the gathering, CEM Gorlosa said that Dima Hasao district is competing with other districts of the State in education and other development sectors. He said that his team of council members was striving to make the district among the top 5 districts in the State. He further said that Harangajao constituency was the fastest developing constituency among 28 constituencies of the district.
EM Amendu Hojai said that he would put all efforts to develop the region and sought support of the people. He further said that he would donate 50 per cent of the revenue from his horticulture farm to make the educational institutions of Harangajao fit to compete with other private educational institutions.
Later, students who excelled in the HSLC exam, 2023 were presented a laptop along with a certificate of appreciation.
