Dhemaji AASU felicitates newly-selected central committee office-bearers

LAKHIMPUR: The Dhemaji district unit of All Assam Students' Union (AASU) feted Manturaj Baruah and Rajib Gogoi, who were selected to the central committee of the organization as organizing secretary and executive member respectively, representing Dhemaji in the recent Duliajan session.

On this occasion, Dhemaji AASU organized a felicitation programme at Swahid Udyan of Dhemaji town on Wednesday. In the programme, district AASU president, general secretary, advisers along with Dhemaji District Journalist Association president Ashwini Duworah, Dhemaji Press Club president Premananda Talukdar and secretary Harendra Sarmah extended greetings and good wishes to the newly selected AASU leaders for their achievements.

Speaking on the occasion, Manturaj Baruah and Rajib Gogoi gave word to carry out their duties sincerely and honestly and sought people's blessings and co'-operation in this regard. They further expressed that they would endeavour to lead the struggle to solve the crucial problems of the district, including the flood and erosion, big river dam issue and to have Rain Forest Poba declared as national park.

Through the same programme, Dhemaji AASU extended thanks to AASU president Dipanko Kumar Nath and general secretary Lurinjyoti Gogoi for leading the organization with dynamism in the past years. Dhemaji AASU also extended thanks and gratitude to the Dibrugarh district AASU, Duliajan regional AASU, organizing committee and the people of Duliajan for hosting the 17th session of AASU without any flaw and extending hospitality to the AASU delegates assembled there from various districts of the State.
