DIBRUGARH: Making history in its own right, the Department of Political Science, DHSK College, Dibrugarh released its Digitalized Annual Wall Magazine named Genesis with the theme 'Farm Laws 2020' recently.

Principal Dr.Sashi Kanta Saikia, IQAC Coordinator Dr. Mridul Sarma, Assistant Professor of DDR College, Chabua, Ranandra Khaund, graced the inaugural function amidst presence of the faculty members and students of the department.

Welcoming the gathering, Dr.N.Pegu, Head of the Department, thanked everyone and expressed her appreciation of the efforts of the students. While briefing about the magazine, Pradyumna Mahanta, third semester student and the editor of the magazine, claimed that the magazine was the first of its kind as it had unique innovative and special features, apart from its original physical form bearing QR code with both its PDF version and audio version along with social media accessibility on Facebook and Instagram.

The wall magazine of the department was digitized from last year when it started introducing its QR Code version rendering ease of access to it. While formally releasing the magazine, in his speech, Principal, Dr.Sashi Kanta Saikia expressed his profound happiness and satisfaction in the way the departmental wall magazine was presented with a new idea of thoughts and innovation that would go a long way in encouraging other departments and colleges.

He said, "This kind of creativity and zeal of students must get due recognition and should be promoted and emulated by all." In appreciation of their creative zeal and hard work, Dr.Saikia also happily announced an award of Rs.5,001 to the editorial team.

Expressing his view, Dr.Mridul Sarma said that this was an achievement and inspiration for all and should now become one of the good practices and innovations of the college and must be extended to all departments.

On the occasion, Dr.L.Doungel, senior most faculty member, of the department said, "The wall magazine will now receive more readers as it is unconventional and no longer requires one to stand near the wall to read it." Dr.Doungel also made the announcement of releasing the current year issue of the departmental newsletter shortly.
