DHUBRI: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Dhubri Deputy Commissioner Anant Lal Gyani and high officials of Duliajan OIL to implement Corporate Social Responsibility Schemes at DC office on Thursday. An official source informed that the Oil India Limited (OIL) will construct two stadiums, 41 toilets in girls’ schools and colleges, and provide a good number of ambulances to Dhubri district.
“One stadium will be constructed in Chapor Tea Garden while another will come up at Maslijhara while 41 toilets will be constructed in girls’ schools and colleges, a list of which has already been prepared. Land for the two stadiums has also been allotted,” Dhubri Deputy Commissioner Anant Lal Gyani told The Sentinel.
When asked when the works would commence, Gyani hoped that the work would start after the parliamentary election. Dhubri District Information and Public Relation Officer, Bikash Sarma said that to implement all these schemes under Corporate Social Responsibility, OIL would spend Rs. 4 crore. Dhubri district is one of the 115 aspirational districts in the country and one of the five in Assam, where many industrial units of the country are contributing to uplift the social-economic parameters in six specific fields, Sarma further said.
