DHUBRI: In a meeting held with Dhubri Deputy Commissioner Anbamuthan MP in the DC's office conference hall on Friday, the ad-hoc committee of Dhubri district Red Cross Society was dissolved, thus paving the way for forming a full-fledged committee.
The new body of Dhubri district unit of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) will be formed in the meeting to be held in the conference hall of Dhubri Circuit House on May 17, Additional Deputy Commissioner Manas Kumar Saikia, who modulated meeting informed.
"The new body will be formed with the existing members and old life members wherein only eight to nine participants present in the meeting will be given members as despite submission of forms, their names haven't appeared in the list, while new membership drive will start after formation of new body," DC Anbamuthan MP informed. The DC also appealed all the old members to come with proof or certificate of their membership and participate in meeting to be held on May 17.
In the meeting, a series of issues, including activities, membership and conducting meetings of Dhubri district Red Cross Society figured, wherein many a members put forward their suggestions to make a strong body soon and to start activities.
