Dhubri District Social Welfare Office Organises Training Programme on Tailoring

In connection with ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ programme, Dhubri District Social Welfare office organised a 30- day training programme on value-added tailoring and cutting for girls recently.

DHUBRI: In connection with ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ programme, Dhubri District Social Welfare office organised a 30- day training programme on value-added tailoring and cutting for girls recently.

The training was organized at Dhubri Sankardev Institute of Skill Development & Management in collaboration with Dhubri district administration and National Urban Livelihoods Mission Society.

In the inaugural ceremony, Assistant Commissioner, Debsena Barman, Dhubri District Social Welfare Officer, Surja Baruah, Dhubri City Project Manager (NULM) Dr. Lachit Deka and District Mission Coordinator, District Hub for Women Empowerment, Meghali Roy weres present.

Speaking at the inaugural function of the training, Dhubri District Social Welfare Officer, Surja Baruah called upon the trainee girls to learn the value added tailoring as this training would help them to start a new profit earning business and to become financially self reliant in days to come.

Other speakers also encouraged the girls to complete the 30-day training with dedication and devotion. Altogether 30 girls were enrolled for the training, official source said.
