DHUBRI: Two land brokers of Dhubri Circle office, Hazrat Ali and Mirza Khan were arrested by Dhubri police on Monday. The duo's names were in the list of FIRs lodged by Dhubri District administration last month, but they evaded arrest and obtained interim bail. However, it didn't help them from being arrested.
Mirza Khan is allegedly not only involved in land brokering case, but also used 'press' sticker on his car and moved in and around the State and other parts of the country.
Meanwhile, Dhubri Additional Superintendent of Police, Rozy Rani Sarmah in a press meet on Monday evening informed that police had specific information about a bundle of file and land related documents, which Ali unauthorisedly kept in his residence in ward no 15 of Dhubri town.
"After Ali's arrest, police on the basis of information raided the house of Hazrat Ali and recovered the files and documents", Sarmah added. The duo was produced in Dhubri court but denied bail.
Earlier, all the 23 persons arrested by Dhubri Police in the land brokering case on September 21 and 22, obtained bail from Gauhati High Court by October 11.
