Dhubri Superintendent of Police Nabin Singh rules out security threats

DHUBRI: On Tuesday, a thermocol-like object with lights and a dangling antenna was discovered in the New Ghat area on the outskirts of the town of Dhubri. Some people from New Ghat were able to rescue this electronic equipment after suspecting it to be a spy gadget. They reported it to the police right away, who looked into it and discovered it to be a weather-related gadget. Nabin Singh, the Superintendent of Police in Dhubri, denied that this device posed any security risks when approached by The Sentinel. "After examination, it was discovered that the device is utilised to obtain data and information relating to the weather. When a device's battery is completely depleted, it frequently ends up on the ground. The device is not a cause for concern.” Dhubri being situated at the proximity of Bangladesh, people got scared as soon as news of recovery of the object broke out in electronic media, which was suspected to be a “spy camera”.
