Dibrugarh Airport of AAI launches intensive cleanliness and housekeeping drive

DIBRUGARH: Dibrugarh Airport of Airports Authority of India has launched an intensive cleanliness and housekeeping drive inside the Airport premises, offices, operational area etc. as part of the Special Campaign 2.0 launched by Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances. This campaign is also part of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav" celebrations to commemorate the 75th year of Independence. This campaign is divided in to two phases. PHASE - I was Preparatory phase from 14-09-2022 to 30-09-2022, and PHASE – II is Campaign execution phase from 02-10-2022 to 31-10-2022.

Phase-I comprised of planning and preparation of campaign, commenced by sensitizing the officers and mobilizing the ground functionaries by Appointing Nodal Officers at Regional Headquarter level and Airport level.

Further campaign sites were identified and demarcated. Old and obsolete files, equipment and scraps as well as redundant materials at the site were identified and consolidated for disposal. Also, public grievances, complaints and references, if any pending were resolved immediately. Intense cleanliness drive was scheduled as per the availability of work force in the demarcated areas.

In this regard, some of demarcated areas identified were vehicle parking area, neglected corners at terminal building, building frames, ceiling and roof, dusty and stained art motifs, dirty glass facades, air conditioning vents etc.

Phase-II which comprised of campaign execution phase set forth on October 2, 2022, marking the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The campaign began with oath-taking ceremony in which members from CISF, Airlines and other agencies working at the Airport took part. The 'Swachchata Shapath' was administered by the Airport Director to all to live up to the spirit of cleanliness by employees working at the airport.

Intense cleaning drive was done to ensure dusting and cleaning of wall arts, statues, pillars, ceiling, AC vents and ducts, water coolers etc. Old vehicles, equipment, scraps, removed ACs etc are in the process of survey and being sold, which will not only bring some revenue to the organization but also free off space and ensure a beautified clutter-free environment. More than 200 old equipment log books, files and records, training and calibration records and around 50 official files are in the process of being weeded out and shredded.

Grass cutting and shrubs removal is being done every day inside the premises and at all locations inside the operational area. All the officials of Dibrugarh Airport have been taking active participation in the event. With the progress of campaign on each day, new milestone is being achieved to live up to the spirit of cleanliness in the Airport premises.
