What was meant to be a solemn and reverent ritual took a devastating turn, leaving the community grief-stricken.

According to reports, the calamity struck when Diganta lost his footing and fell into the Brahmaputra River while making his way to offer the pind, a symbolic offering to the departed soul. Adding a poignant layer to the story, a small girl who accompanied the two brothers during the ritual became the sole eyewitness to this tragic incident. Her harrowing account provided crucial details to the police and the authorities, shedding light on the heartbreaking events that unfolded that fateful morning.

This devastating incident serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictable and unforgiving nature of water bodies like the Brahmaputra River.
