Dibrugarh University NSS team participates in National Integration Camp

DIBRUGARH: Dibrugarh University National Service Scheme (NSS) team comprising ten volunteers and a programme officer had taken part in the recently-concluded National Integration Camp (NIC) at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, Haryana. The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, and the Regional Directorate of NSS, Delhi sponsored the camp.

Dr Mahmuda Begum, Assistant Professor-cum-Program Officer of Lakhimpur Girls’ College, NSS Unit was leading the team as Contingent Leader of Assam. The team comprised NSS Volunteers Puja Saikia, Gayatri Medhi, Priyanshu Das, Denish Jyoti Gohain, Nasir Ali Hazarika, Biraj Borah, Banashree Kalita,

Kalpana Baruah, Basanta Bonia and Himakhi Saikia from different colleges under Dibrugarh University NSS Cell. The Assam contingent bagged three silver and one bronze prize in different categories of cultural competitions.

Two students of Lakhimpur Girls’ College managed to bag two awards in the mega event and brought laurels to the college as well as to the State. One of them is Gayatri Medhi, who won silver medal in group dance while Puja Saikia won Bronze medal in solo dance competition organized during the camp. Dr. Surajit Bhuyan, Principal of Lakhimpur Girls’ College congratulated and appreciated the Programme Officer and two NSS volunteers of the college for their participation and remarkable success they achieved in the mega NIC camp.

Dipak Kumar, Regional Director NSS, Guwahati and Dr David Kardong, Program Coordinator, DU NSS Cell, congratulated and appreciated all the volunteers and Program Officer for their participation in this mega National Integration Camp- 2023, Haryana.
