TINSUKIA: The Digboi Press Club organized a reminiscence programme on Sunday in memory of Arup Kalita, vice president of Digboi Press Club and former assistant secretary of Tinsukia District Journalists' Association who expired on March 17 at the age of 39. Arranged in association with people of Digboi and few organizations in the premises of Digboi Press Club, the commemorative programme was attended by media persons from Margherita, Doomdooma, Digboi and Tinsukia besides leading citizens of Digboi and family members of Arup Kalita including his parents.

The programme began with floral tribute to the portrait of Kalita which was followed by an all religion prayer. As a token of financial support to the bereaved family members, a cheque of Rs 75,000 was extended to his wife Junmoni Kalita while a collage prepared by Rana Jyoti Neog, secretary Tinsukia District Journalists' Association highlighting the contribution late Kalita as journalistic pursuits was also presented to her. A commemorative souvenir 'Arup Suyoron' was released by renowned writer Punya Saikia. The programme was moderated by Manuranjan Das, secretary Digboi Press Club.
