Dima Hasao Autonomous Council celebrated Dima Hasao Day in Halflong

HAFLONG: Commemorating the 13 glorious years of renaming the N C Hills district as Dima Hasao district, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council celebrated Dima Hasao Day in a befitting way on Thursday at Diham Raji, Haflong. In this connection, a well attended meeting was held with Chief Executive Member Debolal Gorlosa as chief guest at Diham Raji playground. The programme began with a warm welcome speech which was delivered by EM of DHAC Projit Hojai and welcome dance was performed by the students of Ringku Damsa Institute of Dibarai.

Addressing the gathering, CEM Debolal Gorlosa expressed great satisfaction over the grand success in implementing the agreement of MoS signed among the Central Government, Government of Assam, DHD and DHD(J). In the meeting he said that the district was renamed from NC Hills district to Dima Hasao district on the March 30, 2010. He said, “Through this we are uplifting the socio-economic development of the district in coming days.”

He in the meeting also said how the members of Autonomous council and other organization have supported with the guidance of State government and Central government to make the district better in socio-economic, education, infrastructural development and peace.

Others present during the programme were executive members, formers CEM and EMs, Principal Secretary Thai Tsho Daulagupu, ACS, Deputy Commissioner Simanta Kr. Das, ACS, Secretary DHAC Debanon Daulagupu, and other dignitaries.

There were also other dignitaries President/Secretary representing various civil society, officers from different departments, representative from NGOs, student organizations, ex-cadres from DHD, GBs, Mouzadars and as well as well-wishers from the entire district.
