District Development Committee meet held to review the status of schemes in Silchar

A meeting of District Development Committee was held at the conference hall of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Cachar here in Silchar on Friday.

SILCHAR: A meeting of District Development Committee was held at the conference hall of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Cachar here in Silchar on Friday. The meeting was presided over by the District Development Commissioner of Cachar Rajib Roy. The meeting started with a welcome address by the District Development Commissioner Rajib Roy.

At the outset, DDC Roy instructed all the heads of the departments for timely submission of the district template in the indicative format issued by the Office of the Chief Secretary, Monitoring Division. He emphasized on the importance of submission of write up on achievements of various Departments in respective categories for the financial year 2019-2020 relating to applying for 'Karmashree Award ' in respect of Cachar district.

In the meeting various issues of importance were also discussed relating to various on going schemes of different departments like PWD(Building), Agriculture, Water Resources Department, Soil Conservation etc.

DDC Roy expressed his displeasure over the repeated absence of Executive Engineer, Assam Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Silchar.

In the meeting DDC Roy instructed in the meeting to issue a show cause notice to the concerned Departments. Besides, DDC Roy also instructed all the concerned departments to coordinate with each other for the progress of the district and assured that he will extend all possible help to the departments from his end for fulfilment of their targets. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks from the chairman, stated a press release.
