DIBRUGARH: The District Industries & Commerce Centre (DI&CC), Dibrugarh conducted recovery drive in respect of huge PMEGP loans sanctioned by Assam Gramin Vikash Bank (AGVB) branches in Dibrugarh district on December 6.
The recovery drive was conducted in collaboration with District administration Dibrugarh led by Rashika Shyam, ALRS, and Circle Officer, Dibrugarh West Revenue Circle & Executive Magistrate, Dibrugarh, M S Anam, Assistant Manager, DI&CC and Amarjyoti Dihingia, Branch Manager, AGVB main branch, Dibrugarh.
The drive, to begin with, focused on targeting the defaulters of Dibrugarh town area. A total of 21 such defaulters were contacted by the team. All these defaulters have vouched to clear the outstanding as soon as possible.
This drive has sent a strong message to the PMEGP beneficiaries who, despite running their business /enterprises successfully, have wilfully evaded repayment of the loan, making all these accounts NPA (Non-Performing Assets). The officials confirmed that in near future more such drives, involving all the bank branches of the district, would be conducted to nab such wilful defaulters.
