BISWANATH CHARIALI: As a large number of COVID-19 positive cases have been detected in the district of Kamrup (M) leading to the subsequent imposition of total lockdown in the district to contain the spread of COVID-19, the District Magistrate and the chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority, Biswanath, imposed restriction on back and forth journey of people from Kamrup (M) to Biswanath district and vice versa under general circumstances in the interest of maintenance of public health, hygiene and safety of the general public in exercise of the power conferred under section 34 of the Disaster Management Act-2005.
All heads of departments, Biswanath were instructed to ensure that no back and forth journey of officials and staff of the respective departments to Kamrup (M) should take place until further order. The District Magistrate also ordered that any such unauthorized movement must be immediately brought to his notice for further necessary action. (IANS)
