District Road Safety Committee meet held in Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR: The meeting of the District Road Safety Committee was held under the chairmanship of Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Aditya Vikram Yadav in the Sukafa Conference Hall of DC's office on Thursday. The meeting discussed at length to take early measures to ensure that no road accidents take place, especially on the eve of new year.

The Deputy Commissioner also directed several concerned departments to take joint action to ensure that no one drives under the influence of alcohol. The meeting also discussed the work done by the designated departments as per the decision of the previous Road Safety Committee meeting.

Sivasagar Superintendent of Police Subhrajyoti Bora, who was present in the meeting, spoke on various road safety measures to be taken to prevent road accidents. The meeting also identified various accident prone areas in the district and identified speed bumps. It was decided to make arrangements for symbolic signs etc.

Apart from the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sabyasachi Kashyap, Sivasagar Municipal Board Chairperson Mrinalini Konwar, Executive Officer of Sivasagar Municipal Board Sugata Goswami, District Transport Officer Siddharth Saikia, Superintending Engineer of PWD(Roads) Department Prakash Pegu, Executive Engineer Bibhuti Ranjan Sharma and others were present in the meeting.
