District Task Force meeting on COVID vaccination held in Chirang

A District Task Force meeting to review the performance and progress of vaccination against COVID-19 in the district was held in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office at Kajalgaon on Monday.

KOKRAJHAR: A District Task Force meeting to review the performance and progress of vaccination against COVID-19 in the district was held in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner's office at Kajalgaon on Monday.

Presiding over the meeting as the Chairman of District Task Force, the Deputy Commissioner, Chirang, GautamTalukdar took report on the status of vaccination process against COVID-19 in the district from the district health authorities.

As per data provided by the health department, around 7 per cent beneficiaries aged 60 years and above, and 10 per cent beneficiaries in the age group of 45 to 60 years with comorbidities received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine across the district. While in the district, the vaccination percentage of HCW (Health Care Worker) and FLW (Field Level Worker) in the first dose was 62 per cent and 74 per cent respectively.

Expressing concern over the skimpy progress in COVID-19 vaccination in the district, the Deputy Commissioner Talukdar asked the district health authorities to organize mass awareness campaign at various locations and to take immediate steps for media campaign so as to achieve the targeted result in the district.

Besides this, he urged them to generate awareness among the polling personnel during their training sessions as their training was going to be held till March 31.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner and in-charge, health department Anupam Deka, Bengtal Circle Officer Pulak Biswas, Charan Narzary, Circle Officer (Attached), Sidli Revenue Circle and senior doctors and officials of health department.
