District toppers of HSLC and HS examinations in Dima Hasao felicitated

HAFLONG: In a special programme organized at Shiksha Bhawan, Haflong by the office of the Inspector of Schools, three toppers of Dima Hasao among the HSLC candidates and three each from Arts, Science and Commerce stream were felicitated for their achievement.

Debolal Gorlosa, Chief Executive Member of North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council, Nandita Gorlosa, Assam Minister for Power, Mines & Minerals, Corporation etc and Lalremsiama Darnei, NCHAC Executive Member incharge Education were also present during the felicitation programme.

Dima Hasao recently excelled in field of education by holding second position in entire state of Assam in SEBA conducted High School Leaving Certificate examination (HSLC), fifth position in state in Arts Stream, sixth in Science stream and also in commerce stream the pass percentage has been good in AHSEC conducted Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSSLLC).

Students were handed over certificate of excellence and a citation. Expressing his happiness CEM Debolal Gorlosa also personally handed over a cheque to each student achiever amounting to Rs. 23,000 to first position holders, Rs.13,000 to second position holders and Rs.7,000 to the third position holders.

Chief guest of the programme, CEM Debolal Gorlosa encouraged the toppers to be consistent and continue their studies with the same zeal and dedication to achieve their dream.

Assam Cabinet Minister, Nandita Gorlosa who was earlier Executive Member incharge Education (Primary, Elementary and Higher Education) also encouraged the students by her presence in the programme and her inspiring speech. Narrating about her visits around the state as the Minister and her interaction with the famous sports personalities she stressed how the students should also explore opportunities in the field of sports too. No matter how challenging the situation may be, but students should be focused and continue to achieve their dreams.
