DIBRUGARH: As part of the steps taken to minimize the traffic management problems of the traffic branch of Dibrugarh Police, the Dibrugarh Municipality Board (DMB) has come forward with Rs 10 lakh worth traffic control tools. The tools, amongst others, include traffic sticks with light, reflecting jackets, raincoats, helmets and folding stretchers.
Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha, on behalf of DMB, handed over all items at a function held on Friday at Sadar Police Station to the Superintendent of Police, Dibrugarh, Sreejith T. Addressing the meeting, DC Jha stated that the traffic personnel of Dibrugarh Traffic Branch had to face a considerable amount of hardship earlier in managing the traffic due to lack of various logistic support and tools in particular. Keeping in view all these shortcomings, the DMB had come forward to donate such traffic kits to the traffic branch of Dibrugarh Police, he added.
Superintendent of Police Srijeeth T hoped that proper use and application of such traffic kits would certainly help traffic branch in controlling traffic effectively. Traffic kits offered under the 6th Finance Commission fund comprised 150 signage boards, 100 cones, 32 traffic sticks with light, 50 reflecting jackets, 100 raincoats, 50 helmets, two folding stretchers and others.
