HAFLONG: At least 9 staff of Khepre Primary Health Centre, located about 50 km from Maibang including one doctor, have been put under suspension for irregularities in duty. The order was issued soon after an incident where a pregnant lady approached the centre but found the door locked.
In this connection the executive member in charge of Medical, Health and Family Welfare Samuel Changsan held a press meet at the office of the joint director Dima Hasao health services in presence of Dr Kalpana Kemprai, Joint Director. Despite of the sincere efforts of most of the doctors and staff, infrastructural and other deficiencies exist. But there is no room for complacency or negligence of duties, as health and well-being are of paramount importance. Departmental proceedings have been initiated against the medical personnel of Khepre Primary Healthcare Centre, for their negligence.
Strict action will be taken against all doctors, nurses who are irregular or found to be absent unauthorised at their place of posting.
Departmental inquiry of any lapses in healthcare service- has been initiated with the spot visit and initial inquiry at Khepre Medical PHC centre by the Principal Secretary, NCHAC, along with Deputy Secy I/c Health, NCHAC and Jt.Director, Health & FW, Dima Hasao, Maibang- Langting Medical Block I/c and its BPM, NHM and others. Changsan said he has visited the centre and the new born baby boy and his mother, are fine and stable at the Khepre PHC hospital.
