Doctors’ Day observed at Margherita under aegis off Indian Medical Association

The Doctors’ Day to commemorate the birth and death anniversary of Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy was observed at Margherita under the aegis of Margherita branch of Indian Medical Association (IMA) in collaboration with Margherita sub-district branch of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) on Saturday.

TINSUKIA: The Doctors’ Day to commemorate the birth and death anniversary of Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy was observed at Margherita under the aegis of Margherita branch of Indian Medical Association (IMA) in collaboration with Margherita sub-district branch of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) on Saturday.

Welcoming the guest, Pabitra Borgohain, branch secretary of IRCS, talked about life and philosophy of legendary physician Dr BC Roy. In sync with the observance, the branch organized an awareness programme on the theme ‘Celebrating Resilience & Healing Hands’ on tobacco-related Oro-Pharyngeal Cancer. Dr Sumit Goyal, eminent oncologist of the Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute, New Delhi, delivered speech on the topic in presence of a distinguished gathering. The programme also witnessed felicitation of 26 doctors of Margherita.
